Its more digging digging digging today. Dirt everywhere. Here's a mound in the front of the house waiting for the dump truck to carry it away.

Dirt in the backyard also. I know - a surprise given that they are digging in the backyard.

More digging of the basement. This area will hold the furnace, hot water heater and will be a storage space for my art. It's the only part of the house that will be a full basement.

The sewer pipe runs out of the house and through the backyard. As you can see the crabapple tree wasn't kind to the clay. Roots and broken pipes - fun stuff. The entire line will be replac ...

The basement is just about finished. I think that's an 11 foot drop out the backdoor. We tried to get the cats to jump out the door but they weren't going for it.

This side of the addition will be a split level. The lower half will be a garden level basement and will be my bedroom/bathroom/study and the top side will be the new studio.

I find this so exciting! Look - they are building a studio in my backyard! You can see the sewer pipe in the center.

The backyard is full of trenches. Hard to see here but the sewer is dug up almost to the back fence.

The trench next to the sewer line is where they new sewer pipe will go. They will get to live side by side for a while. The rocks are to pack to new pipe. Mystery solved.
