Lisa Call > I guess the guys got tired of carrying all the wood to the back and up to the studio - the crane arrives and they get all lazy. This pile of wood is getting ready to go.
Lisa Call > Whee! (think that is what the crane operator is thinking? I suspect it is but he looked way to tough to admit it)
Lisa Call > Jim's up on the roof directing the crane guy where to put the wood. It ended up on the studio floor.
Lisa Call > After the pile of 2x4s they flew in more of the plywood - they were very done with doing it one piece at a time from the back of Eric's truck.
Lisa Call > I had to jump on a call for work and missed the first truss going over the house. I got out just in time to hear them pondering why the truss didn't fit. See that big gap right under Jim's hand - it should be there. So they had to get out a bunch of string and figure out what angle this thing was suppose to really sit.

Turns out the truss was fine - solution was to put another board up on the other end of the house to get it all at the right angle.

They probably would have preferred I not be around to hear this conversation. But I also think this is how houses are built - guys just build stuff and when it doesn't fit together they just modify it. It's a guy thing.

I do wonder what happens when they misplace something with only guys up there working - who bothers to look UNDER stuff to find the missing thing?
Lisa Call > Mucking with the first truss. On the right - underneath Carl, there are currently just 2 boards running along the top of the wall. The solution to fix things was to add a 3rd board.
Lisa Call > Now there are a bunch of trusses in a row. It's starting to look like a barn.
Lisa Call > Eric's job was to attach the trusses tot he crane.
Lisa Call > Jim and Carl were the crazy ones up on the back of the house.

You can see the third board is now in place for them to set the trusses on.
